For Magazine Submit poetry only, (no fiction until further notice), black & white photographs, drawings, and illustrations (better to send scans or photocopies of artwork rather than originals). We prefer contemporary urban themeswriting from the gut that is not afraid to bark or biteand shy away from pastoral, religious, and rhyming verse. If you're unsure, the editors strongly recommend that you sample a current or back issue of Slipstream. Submitting blindly to any magazine may result in wasting your time, money, and effort. If you desire a response, please include a SASE. Send only copies of your poems, not originals. Payment is in copies. Reading for general theme issue throughout 2008 poetry only For Annual Chapbook Contest
Simultaneous submissions are okay as long as you keep us informed of status. Previously published poems with proper acknowledgement and photocopies (that are easy on the eyes) are also acceptable. All entrants receive a copy of the winning chapbook plus the most recent issue of Slipstream magazine. A winner is selected in the spring. Due to recent increases in the cost of mail, manuscripts will no longer be returned. The winner is featured on the Slipstream web site and in all Slipstream catalogues, press releases and promotional materials.
