SUBMIT POETRY

Slipstream Magazine is currently reading for Issue #46. We seek poetry that explores the theme "Screams & Whispers." Creative interpretations are highly encouraged and welcome. Submit up to five (5) poems in one document file only.

No previously published work please.
We also are seeking photography and artwork for the issue. Please do not submit again until you have received a response on the status of your current submission. Issue #46 will be published in fall 2026.
Deadline for submissions:
May 31, 2026
What To Submit
Submit poetry (no fiction until further notice), black & white photographs, drawings, and illustrations. If submitting artwork by mail, please send scans or photocopies rather than originals.
We prefer contemporary urban themes—writing from the gut that is not afraid to bark or bite—and shy away from pastoral, religious, and rhyming verse.
If you're unsure, the editors strongly recommend that you sample a current or back issue of Slipstream. Submitting blindly to any magazine may result in wasting your time, money, and effort.
Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, as long as you inform us promptly if the work has been taken by another outlet.
Payment is in copies of the magazine in which your work appears.
How To Submit
In order to submit poetry to Slipstream, we ask that you please use Submittable. This is a free service provided to writers and artists to facilitate online submissions and correspondence. It just takes a few seconds to sign up.
Acceptable file formats for poetry are: Microsoft Word .doc or .docx, Adobe Acrobat .pdf, Rich text format .rtf, or plain text format .txt.
Acceptable formats for artwork & photography are: .jpg, .png, .gif, and .tif. If sending more than one work, place inside a folder and compress into a .zip file before uploading.
